Program:
|
|
The schedule will be flexible; here's John's provisional outline:
I'm imagining an agenda for
the first day that's something like this:
* 9:00 - 10:00 am: The Basics of Ontology Editing - The GO curators walk through the
basics of ontology creation, including a discussion of the most common
day-to-day tasks, how to solve common ontology modeling problems, and share
some not-so-well-known tips.
* 10:00 - 10:30 am: What's new in DAG-Edit 1.4x, and what it's good for.
* 10:30 - whenever: What do you hate about DAG-Edit? People can share the
problems they have using DAG-Edit, like hard-to-use features or bugs.
* work: People then just go about their daily ontology development tasks. They
can call anyone over to help them or talk to them. I expect that I'll get
lots of bug reports over the course of the day, so I can spend my downtime
putting together bug fixes.
On subsequent mornings, we can use the 9 - 10 time slot for Q & A time, and
then just work the rest of the day. If someone asks an illuminating or
important question, we can get everyone's attention and work through it on
the big screen.
We welcome further suggestions, so if there is a topic you would
like to see covered, please send ideas to go@geneontology.org.
