Pro-L69P/S324C was completely autoprocessed within 30 min at 80°C. In this figure, only the unautoprocessed and  mature forms of the proteins are shown. However, L69P-propeptide and Tk-propeptide  were always associated with S324C-subtilisin and were not significantly degraded by  S324C-subtilisin upon incubation for 4 h at 80°C (data not shown). Pro-S324C, which  migrates as a unautoprocessed form in the gel after extensive autoprocessing reaction,  may represent the protein incorrectly folded. These results indicate that the Leu69&amp;#8594;Pro 
mutation decreases the autoprocessing rate of Pro-Tk-subtilisin.</attribute>
