As Anti-CD3/28  antibodies are used, in effect,  as a mitogen (as in many  expts using antigen-specific TCD4+/TCD8+ cells -a standard protocol) - without these abs you would not see much cell division, and the cells might die, or not respond to any other stimulus(??). So I did not think it appropriate to add the  comment you suggest;    - The CD3/28 presence for the non-TReg cells  is already stated in the Exp. Mod. for both Expts. Also anti-CD3  has an effect with TGF-beta alone, without anti-CD28 (Fig 1C +others?) - so I cannot add a simple statement to the effect that "TGF-Beta only has an effect in the presence of anti-CD3/28 in CD4+CD25- T cells " . Anti-CD3/Cd28 + TGF-beta are not used/needed  for the naturally occurring TReg cells experiment - so not relevant in this instance (Fig 8D).&#xd;
If you still think I should add a comment regarding presence of  anti-CD3/CD28 -get back to me. (though I cannot think what I would put)&#xd;

Anti-CD3/Cd28 + TGF-beta are not used/needed  for the naturally occurring TReg cells experiment - so not relevant in this instance (Fig 8D).&#xd;
