The authors note that "The observation of perturbations of only a subset of CRC-N signals indicates that the peptide binds to a discrete binding site on the protein." The widespread distribution of chemical shift perturbations suggests that the conformation of protein changes in concert with binding of the peptide and limits the ability to define the binding site.
