GO Tutorial - Portugal, November 2003
=====================================

Amelia Ireland

This is a set of files prepared for a group of 6 Portugese graduate students who were attending a week long course on ontologies. The plan for the day was:

- Introduction To GO (from GO-Portugal.ppt)

- Students work through exercises I through III; at the end of each exercise there is a little summary on the spreadsheet of what they should have learned.
Ex I - basic DAG-Edit and GO principles
Ex II - making relationships
Ex III - reconstruct a bit of component ontology (inc. some defs)

- Little intro to GO annotation (from GO-Portugal.ppt again)

- Students do Ex IV, an annotation exercise.

- Closing remarks.

This material covered a full day (~ 7 hours) easily and seemed to be appropriately difficult for science graduate students. The biology involved is quite easy but getting to know DAG-Edit and how GO works takes time.
