############################################## This directory contains binaries packages for 7 different platforms. NOTE for MacOSX users : ======================= Before running anything, open a terminal and type the following command : 'unlimit' This command will tell to the system to unlimit the resources usage when running a program. If you don't do it, you may have some error from ScanRegExp saying ' Segmentation fault'. Unlimit command will avoid this problem. 08/04/04 : Updated the IRIX Bin package with version 2.3.2 of hmmer (hmmpfam and hmmsearch). They were version 2.2 before. 27/11/04 : Bin packages for release 4.0 These packages include precompiled binraires for EMBOSS tools (seqret & sixpack) needed for InterProScan release 4.0. Have a look at the README in the bin package to know how they have been compiled and what are the option used to compile them. NOTE: Unfortunately, AIX bin are not available yet due to unavailability. 25/02/05 : Bin packages now contain hmmconvert NOTE: Only Sun architecture does not contain precompiled binary, it had been compiled at home. Check iprscan/bin/SunOS/README. NEW PLATFORM supported : Linux IBM (Thanks to Ruzhu Chen) ========================================================= NOTE: Installation script determines what is your architecture by using 'uname' command. As uname retruns 'Linux' on both architectures 'Linux' & 'IBM Linux', you will have to create a symbolik link from 'Linux-on-Power' directory to 'Linux' (ln -s Linux-on-Power Linux) or rename this directory 'Linux-on-Power' to 'Linux' (mv Linux-on-Power Linux') to let the installation script create the approriate sym link to have InterProScan find the binaries directory.
